Giovanni Pinosio
A Venetian artist who uses iron wire to create unique spaces and objects.
CollaborationsWith his iron wire sculptures, Pinosio embodies the very idea of an artist responsible for the happiness of the space he inhabits.
“Working with iron wire fascinates me for what it evokes in me: reflection, waiting, silence, relationship, interweaving – but above all, the musicality of a line shaped in a harmonious and continuous way.”
To furnish a space is to imagine. To imagine oneself as part of it — through a shape, a material, a dimension, a weight. All these characteristics suddenly become witnesses of our imagination, and in that moment we accept our role as protagonists of an invisible geometry. We then lend that geometry a soul, a taste, an appearance — and often even a scent. We begin a dialogue with its contours. In short: we feel responsible for its happiness.
Giovanni Pinosio, with his iron wire sculptures, captures this very sentiment: he is an artist responsible for the happiness of the spaces he adorns.
His Venetian atelier is a wondrous workshop, where dozens of bodies and objects come to life, embroidering the air around the visitor and transforming the entire scene into a dreamlike dance of forms in dialogue.

“My artistic research stems from a deep urgency: to translate into sculpture the sensations I feel while singing — an introspective journey that has led me to explore the concept of voice in all its nuances.”
Born in 1991, Giovanni Pinosio graduated in Sculpture from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. During his studies, he delved into anatomical drawing, which he then translated into three dimensions through sculpture using iron wire. This material — both strong and delicate — serves as an ideal connector between drawing and sculpture, allowing the artist to represent bodies and objects whose structure interacts intimately with the surrounding space. His lines are “pure drawings in space”, where the wire itself generates emptiness — a void that, for the artist, becomes the “voice” of the work.
Pinosio’s creations are thus empty sculptures, resonating chambers that narrate stories through the very forms that inhabit the environment. Loyal to his own vision yet flexible enough to adapt it to the needs of the space he is asked to “dress”, Pinosio uses his art to design and craft spaces with a singular identity. His artistic path has led him to populate these spaces not only with figures, but also with objects and bespoke design elements such as chandeliers, mirrors, clocks, chairs, three-dimensional paintings, and highly personalized ornaments.
For Pinosio, to “anatomize an object” does not simply mean to describe its form, but to investigate its story and emotional significance. This is why the sculptor often reinterprets objects from his past — connected to personal experiences or evoking memories of intimate moments lived. His design creates empathy and challenges the viewer through forms and volumes that shift depending on the angle from which they are observed — a three-dimensional game capable of upending the rules of traditional interior design and captivating the eye with its irreverent yet refined movement. Since 2016, Pinosio has been leading wire sculpture workshops and lessons for associations and cultural institutions in his local area, sharing and spreading this unique artistic practice.
